The first Annual E1 BiotechBuilders Event was held in Denmark, north of Copenhagen, in August 2003, with 100 Biotech executives, VCs and Pharma representatives from the Medicon Valley region. It was the first in a series of events, whose unique style became the trademark of BiotechBuilders: Gatherings in informal settings and "dressed for the occasion", the surroundings and program engineered according to a certain theme, a strong focus on team building, training and interaction and a high professional content. BiotechBuilders Annual Events let people meet on an equal basis and experience working together - only then we learn from each other and build strong relationships for future interaction.
The participants for the events are selected to have a fairly homogeneous level of competencies to optimize the outcome. With the support of regional organizing groups and the help of dedicated BiotechBuilders, the Annual Event is the highlight of the BiotechBuilders year - a day of challenge, optimism, networking and opportunities – and with the Award to the regional BiotechBuilder of the Year.
Since 2003, the BiotechBuilders concept has been a great success and the network is growing year by year. In 2007 the Annual Event in Medicon Valley celebrated its 5-year anniversary that also saw the launch of a new subgroup, the F1 BiotechBuilders, the entrepreneurs of the future. The big Annual Event is organized by a regional group of orgnaizers and sponsors; various other events and meeting are organized by any member(s) of the network as desired.
Going into its 8th year, BiotechBuilders is expanding internationally with:
